Breaking The Waves
In a small community on the north west coast of Scotland a naive young girl, Bess, falls in love with oil rig worker, Jan. Against quite strong opposition she decides to marry him. Jan is involved in an accident at the rig which leaves him paralysed and he is worried that Bess will miss out on a normal life. He encourages her to take a lover telling her that she will aid his recovery by recounting her sexual exploits.
