After World War II broke out, Queen Elizabeth's morale boosting visits to bombed-out parts of Britain helped to turn the tide of war and establish her place firmly in the hearts of the nation. Peacetime brought more changes when her husband King George VI died and her daughter Elizabeth became the new Queen. Tragedy has struck at the heart of the family from Princess Diana's death to the death of her daughter, Princess Margaret which came as a grievous and heartfelt blow in her last days.
