3 Women (DVD)
Robert Altman's dreamlike masterpiece, is one of the most unusual and compelling films of the 1970's. The film tells the story of a shy, quiet girl named Pinky (Sissy Spacek), who starts working in a nursing home and strikes up a friendship with the talkative Millie (Shelley Duvall). The pair share an apartment and grow closer together. A third woman, Willie, (Janice Rule) a mute pregnant artist, who expresses her fears and fantasies by painting murals of male aggression and victimised women on the bottom of swimming pools, is also at the centre of a series of strange events that cause their personas to change and morph in unexpected ways.
