Angelic Upstarts - Solidarity, Live
The first DVD from the Angelic Upstarts. Formed in South Shields (near Newcastle) in 1977, Angelic Upstarts were one of the period's most politically charged and thought-provoking groups. While technically a punk band, their music quickly evolved past the movement's scope. The Upstarts were led by vocalist, Mensi, whose impoverished childhood became a frequent lyrical touchstone. They debuted with the single 'Murder of Liddle Towers', a scabrous attack on police brutality.
